Launched in September 2021, the IUCN Academy harnesses IUCN expertise to propose learning journeys to those seeking to make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic world of conservation.

At IUCN Academy, we aim to put nature conservation at the heart of green transition and empower individuals and organisations to take the lead in conservation efforts. Our participants will be equipped with knowledge, skills and tools to tackle pressing environmental challenges.

Categories of courses

We offer a diverse range of paid and free courses, including self-paced and structured courses. 

Introductory courses: Free self-paced courses aimed to give participants an insight into IUCN’s main activities, knowledge products and standards or a specific topic in conservation. 

Specialised courses: Primarily targeted at the IUCN community but open to all, these self-paced courses allow you to dive into a topic and develop specialised knowledge and skills in conservation. 

Professional Certificates: Those continuing education courses aim to equip participants with knowledge and skills to build the next steps in their career. These are offered in a hybrid format including live sessions, assignments and group work.
