How It All Started

Around the world, leaders in civil society, academia and government are transforming education systems to strengthen nature-based education, boosting learning outcomes, citizen engagement, health, livelihoods, climate action, and progress towards biodiversity protection.

The IUCN Academy, launched in 2021, combines science and practice to strengthen the skills, expertise and capabilities needed to engage in conservation action. We built this platform for individuals, organisations and communities tackling global and local environmental challenges. Our courses turn ideas into action, with flexible and transformative learning to implement and sustain conservation efforts effectively.
